Little League All-Stars selected

Fifty-six of the best Sisters Little League ball players are gearing up for All-Star play.

“This is probably the largest group of All-Stars we’ve ever fielded,” said Little League player agent Chris Houck. “We have our first Junior Girls’ (age 12-13) softball All-Star team, too. This is a great way to end the regular season.”

They will play in the Little League District Five tournament in Redmond July 1-6.

“We have 32 teams in our divisions. Competition is coming from everywhere and is going to be tough,” said Brian Witt, a coach of the boys’ nine- to 10-year-old team.

District Five stretches from La Pine to The Dalles and east to the Idaho border. It includes little league teams from Bend, Redmond, Sisters, Jefferson County, Crook County, Hood River, The Dalles, Willow Creek, Hermiston and other towns.
