Athletic club will host triathlon

Sisters Athletic Club (SAC) will host its first annual triathlon on Saturday, July 29.

The event will be a combination of an indoor swim, a road bike ride and a trail run.

“It is the perfect event for a first time triathlete and challenging enough for a seasoned veteran,” said organizer Rich Hummel.

The swim will be 425 yards indoors. The bike ride will go six miles up Elm Street towards Three Creek Lake and back for a total of 12 miles. The run will be three miles, mostly on double track.

“We have several age categories from juniors to 60-plus,” Hummel said. “We also have a team competition where each person does a different leg of the triathlon.”

Cost is $25 for SAC members and $35 for non-members. Registration forms are available at the front desk of SAC or call Rich Hummel at 549-6878 for more information.
