• A man handcuffed himself — then realized he had no key.
A deputy rescued him from his predicament.
• A Sisters business reported a theft by an ex-employee.
• A two-vehicle non-injury crash sheared off a telephone pole at the ground.
• A man reported that his daughter’s ex-boyfriend is harassing the family. It seems that the young man accompanied the young lady home from college, but mom and dad kicked him out because they don’t like his lifestyle.
A deputy contacted the young man at work and told him to lay off.
• A resident reported a man riding around on a bicycle with a scoped rifle. He was apparently upset about the war. (That’s going to help).
Deputies tried to track him down but were unable to find him.
• Someone stole tables, chairs and a fountain from the porch of a Sisters restaurant.
Black Butte Ranch
• An officer arrested a 62-year-old man for drunk driving on the Ranch.
The driver blew a .20 blood-alcohol count in jail. There was no report on what his breath must have been like in the patrol car.
• An officer tried to locate lost hikers in the Five Mile Butte area. They returned to the Ranch on their own.
• A resident contacted police to remove a dead deer from between her property and a neighbor’s. Ranch maintenance was tapped for the chore.
• Officers evacuated neighbors when a fire broke out at a condominium near the Lakeside Bistro (see story, page 1).
• An officer responded to an incident on the highway where a driver lost several bales of hay.
