Dr. Mingus takes over dental practice

Dr. Mark Francis, D.D.S, recently sold his Sisters dental practice to Dr. Kelley Mingus, D.M.D.

Dr. Francis had operated his practice for the last seven years. Last year, Dr. Francis suffered a neck injury that never healed correctly and subsequently forced him to leave the profession. He was approached by Dr. Jeff Timm, D.M.D., who had wanted to purchase the practice for his son, Ryan, who was ready to graduate from dental school in a year.

Dr. Timm found the practice to be quite busy and more than he could manage until his son was ready.

Dr. Francis then conducted an extensive search of the area and happened upon Dr. Mingus, who has since been working the practice in Dr. Francis's absence.

Dr. Mingus was born and raised in Bend and trained at Oregon Health Science University where he obtained his dental degree in 1996. He practiced general dentistry in Klamath Falls for 10 years before deciding to return to his roots in Central Oregon.

Dr. Mingus follows in the practice style of Dr. Francis with a conservative approach to his patients but is prepared to offer the newest techniques and treatment options for the more demanding cases.

In his spare time, Mingus enjoys coaching his boys in various sports, bow hunting, fishing and wakeboarding. Kelley and his wife, Angelina, have been married 15 years and have three children, ages 12, 10 and six.
