Kathleen was born July 16, 1926, in Bend to Geroge C. and Marie (Sosinsky) Carroll. She was raised in Sisters and attended school here. In May 1946, she met and later married her husband, Jim H., in Boise, Idaho. They lived in Alfalfa and were co-owners of J&K Grocery Store until 1962.
Kathleen wrote news for the Redmond Spokesman and she was the librarian for the community. Mrs. Williams was also active in the Alfalfa Grange, June Day Events and involved in her children's school activities.
She was an avid fan of the Mariners baseball team, never missing a game on TV. Her greatest joy was being with her family and friends, watching her great-grandchildren grow up and playing bingo.
She was preceded in death by her husband in June 1995; a brother, Wiley Carroll, in 2003; and a daughter-in-law, Alieta Williams, this year.
She is survived by her daughter, Margi Daniels of Keels, Washington; sons Jim L. Williams of Colbert, Washington; and Wesley Dean Williams of Prince Geroge, Virgina; four grandchildren; and two great-grandsons, Dominick and Quentin. Kathleen's granddaughter Sabrina helped her mom Margi in caring for Kathleen the past 11 years.
She also leaves a very large extended family at Olympic Care & Rehab in Sequim, Washington where she resided for two years. Kathleen was loved and will be missed by all who knew her.
Niswonger-Reynolds Funeral Home of Bend is in charge of arrangements.
