Sisters Kiwanis install new officers

Ninety Kiwanis members and guests enjoyed a potluck on a beautiful, sunny Sunday, September 24. After the meal, the service club celebrated the installation of its 2006-2007 officers and board members.

They are: Jerry Taylor, President; Travis Browning, Vice-President; Linda Bafford, Secretary; Jack McGilvary, Treasurer; and Tay Robertson, Past-President.

Board members are:

Jeff McDonald; Katie Powers; Jim Smith; Jeanne Nolander; Garth Tosello; Bob Walter; and Rick Davidson.

The new officers will began their terms on October 1.

The organization also recognized signal achievements for the past year.

The Project of the Year Award was presented to Justin Dean for the construction work he and fellow Boy Scouts did at the Kiwanis House.

Leart Jett received the Spouse of the Year Award, and Jerry Taylor was presented the Kiwanian of the Year Award. The Spirit of Kiwanis Award went to Ray and Katie Powers for their outstanding service to the club.

Bob Helwig received the Rookie of the Year Award, and Jim Smith earned the Spark Plug Award for his tireless availability to help the club. Naomi Rowe was presented a Club Secretary plaque for her excellent service as the secretary for the past 3-1/2 years. The President's Award and Hixson Award went to Jeff McDonald. Tom Worcester is the newest Lifetime Member.
