The Sisters Folk Festival announces a winter concert series featuring The Bills on Thursday, December 7, BeauSoleil avec Michael Doucet on Saturday, January 6, at the Sisters High School Auditorium and award-winning songwriter, Johnsmith on February 1.
The Bills, headliners for the 2005 Sisters Folk Festival, will be back for an entertaining show in December. The quintet is renowned among folk music fans of all ages for their instrumental virtuosity, lush vocal arrangements, exuberant live performances, evocative songwriting and refreshingly innovative interpretations of traditional tunes from around the globe.
Recently, The Bills received the Entertainer of the Year award at the Western Canada Music Awards.
Tickets for the December 7 show are $15 or $10 for students.
BeauSoleil avec Michael Doucet, a legendary Louisiana-based band will be performing on Saturday, January 6.
BeauSoleil avec Michael Doucet takes the rich Cajun traditions of Louisiana and artfully blends elements of zydeco, New Orleans jazz, Tex-Mex, country, blues and more into a satisfying musical recipe.
Tickets for the January 6 show are $20 and $15 for students.
Johnsmith, award-winning singer-songwriter, will close out the series on February 1. A songwriter-in-the-round style concert is planned for this show, and the other artists joining John are still to be determined. Tickets for the show are $10 and $5 for students.
