News and Opinion from Sisters, Oregon
The Sisters Folk Festival is seeking applications for the position of Events Director. The successful applicant will succeed Erin Deggendorfer, who has recently stepped down from her position with the organization.
Deggendorfer, 26, has been working with the Folk Festival for the past 6 years. She began as a summer intern while still attending college. Her help with the development of the organization came at a time when the festival was in transition from a small volunteer-run music event to a year- round cultural driver in Sisters.
According to festival board members, her work with the My Own Two Hands fundraiser was critical - working with artists, community and sponsors. Hard work was rewarded with the event being named The Oregon Festival and Event Association Fundraising Event of the Year for 2005.
"I have really enjoyed my time at the Sisters Folk Festival, and I know I have grown both professionally and personally thanks to this great community-minded group" Deggendorfer said.
"Erin has been a tremendous asset to the organization and has been instrumental in helping us grow into a financially secure, cultural organization that offers year-round programming," said Board Chair Jim Cornelius. "Erin will be sorely missed, and we hope to find a replacement to fill her shoes."
