News and Opinion from Sisters, Oregon

To the Editor:

Recycling makes a whole lot of sense. Reuse of paper, cardboard and plastic means less waste of natural resources such as trees and oil. Without recycling, we must find more landfills and risk the possibility of more pollution of our ground water.

I might suggest a curbside recycle program whereby newspapers, cardboard, glass and aluminum are picked up weekly as a part of regular trash collection. It may cost more to do this, but we have little choice if we want the right things to happen for our environment.

My family will be relocating from Carlsbad, California in one or two years and we hope to continue to partake in the recycling programs that we have in California.

To the Editor:

Michele Williams will not only get this (charter) school project off with a bang she will also finish it with a stand up applause! She is a wonderful person whom I dearly admire, a childhood friend whom I'll never forget.

She is a devoted, straight-forward, go-get-'em kind of lady. I've seen her climb the hightest mountains and then turn around without a sweat and learn how to fly "literally."

Sisters, Oregon you have the best of the best on your side. Go show 'em what you're made of Michele!
