News and Opinion from Sisters, Oregon
The Sisters Library's Second Annual Art Exhibit, sponsored by the Friends of the Sisters Library (FOSL), is planned to open on January 19 and run to March 1.
Last year's exhibit was a way to celebrate the opening of the new Sisters Library and to showcase the many artists that live and work in the Sisters area.
Over 90 local artists - everyone from painters to quilters - displayed their work at the library's grand opening in January 2006.
The library exhibit will again emphasize the important and intertwined roles that the library and local artists play throughout the Sisters community.
Many of the art pieces will be for sale with a portion of the proceeds going to the FOSL program that helps our library help library patrons.
Friends of the Sisters Library is active year-round filling gaps in the library budget, conducting book sales and helping Sisters area residents enjoy library programs.
Each year FOSL organizes a book sale offering thousands of books, covering every subject imaginable, at affordable prices.
