News and Opinion from Sisters, Oregon
Glenn Carl Keeran passed away on January 8, at age 72, from mesothelioma. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 50 years, Darleen, who passed away from cancer last May.
He was a resident of San Diego for 57 years before retiring to Sisters, where he resided for nine years before returning to San Diego in July to be near his daughters.
Glenn was loved by all for his generous nature, loyalty to family and friends, sense of humor and quirky stubbornness. He was an avid golfer, bowler and softball player into his retirement years.
His first service organization membership was with the National City Jaycees and later the South Bay Optimists. He joined the Sisters Kiwanis in Oregon and enjoyed running their food bank.
He is survived by his daughters Vicki Keeran-Pearson and Lorri Wujek, beloved grandchildren Meghan, Trever, Kyle and Emily, sister Georgie and Willie the Wonder Dog.
The family wishes to express their gratitude to everyone for their support, kindness and prayers during his illness and this time of bereavement. They also thank the doctors, nurses and staff at the Grossmont Cancer Center and Hospice for their kindness and compassion. Donations may be made in memory of Glenn to the American Cancer Society.
