News and Opinion from Sisters, Oregon
Sisters City Council member Judy Trego submitted her resignation from her volunteer position on Monday, April 9. Trego's resignation is effective immediately.
Trego recently was hired for a full-time job as Constituent Services Manager in the Bend office of U.S. Representative Greg Walden.
Trego said that earlier this year she did not anticipate the opportunity of her new job and the time demands it would require and decided that it was in the best interests of her family and constituents in Sisters that she step down immediately.
"Serving residents of Sisters on the city council has been a tremendous honor for me," Trego said. "It was a very tough decision to step down because I love helping my city and dealing with so many great people in my role on the council, but I think it's important that the honor to serve on the council be filled by someone who can dedicate the time needed to be involved in the many important local issues facing us now.
"The silver lining for me is that I'll still remain very involved in assisting residents of Sisters in my new job, and I look forward to maintaining the great relationships I've made the past few years on the council."
