Boy Scouts launch flag service

Sisters residents can fly their American flag proudly and with proper ceremony on six holidays thanks to Boy Scout Troop 188 of Sisters.

For a $60 annual fee Troop 188 will put up a flag in your yard on President's Day in February; Memorial Day; Flag Day on June 14; Independence Day; Labor Day; and Veterans Day.

At the end of each holiday, the troop will pick up the flag and store it until the next holiday.

The service runs from July 4, 2007 to July 1, 2008.

The fee helps support scouting programs, such as scout camp, National Junior Leadership Training and helps provide equipment for the troop.
