Quick action by firefighters from the Oregon Department of Forestry and the U.S. Forest Service kept a blaze at the south end of Sisters to less than a quarter-acre on Thursday, May 24.
The fire occured around noon just south of the Buck Run subdivision near the Locust Street gate on the road leading to the Sisters wastewater treatment facility.
No structures were immediately threatened and the cause of the fire is undetermined.
Sisters-Camp Sherman Rural Fire Protection District crews also responded to the fire.
