Poodles party in park

Sisters' inaugural poodle party was held earlier this month, and it was a hit with the Sisters poodle population. The party was fully catered and provided a fun-filled atmosphere for the pets and their masters, who proved that they are not elitists by inviting at least one terrier and a pointer.

The party was a first-time event for most of the guests.

"I have never been to a poodle party before, and it makes me think we should be in Central Park (in New York City). I have had lots and lots of poodles, but this is the first poodle party I have been to. Liza and I went to Black Crater today, and she just had a bath, so she looks pretty good. Of course, I had a bath too," said Dr. Bonnie Malone.

The young had a coming-out party.

"Cloë is the little puppy over there. She is only 5-1/2 months old, and I have had her for three weeks. This is her debut, and she seems very happy. She is feeling a bit inferior as she is so small," said Sisters resident Sue Yocom.

The party was catered by two well renowned dog caterers, Jeanne Nolander and Celia Grayson.

"I brought wellness dog treats, because they have all good ingredients with no preservatives or additives," said Nolander.

Grayson on the other hand provided a slightly more festive fare.

"I catered the dog hors d'oeuvres. They are dog treats in the shape of a bone, covered with some cream cheese, a slice of boiled egg and topped with a small piece of wiener," she said.

The elegant treats were the hit of the party. One was observed on the ground for a moment, but when discovered it was immediately gobbled up.

John Simpkins was enjoying the human fare as much as Phoebe was enjoying the poodle treats.

"Phoebe hasn't been to a poodle party before, as far as I know. I haven't been with her since she was born. She seems to be telling me that she would like to come again and so would I," he said.

Meanwhile, Yogi, Murphy, Liza, Bocelli, Phoebe and Addy decided to go for a swim to cool off in the creek while Schwendi and Cloë watched from the bank.
