The Outlaws struck first, fast and often and never looked back in their 57-20 victory over La Pine on Friday, October 5.
Sisters scored four touchdowns (TD) in their first six plays from the line of scrimmage to take a quick 28-0 lead. Cory McCaffrey scored Sisters' first TD on a 58-yard run behind the blocking of Evan Eady just one-and-a-half minutes into the game.
Levi Goins intercepted a pass, and the Outlaws regained possession. McCaffrey took it in on an eight-yard run for the TD, and on the Outlaws next possession McCaffrey followed Andrew Enger and Tyler Miller in for a 74-yard TD.
Jarred Hasskamp connected with Carroll Gryder for a 58-yard TD reception to bring the Outlaws to a 28-0 advantage. Tanner Hodges' kicks for the extra points were all good.
With 1:30 left on the clock, McCaffrey ran 28 yards for his fourth touchdown and gave the Outlaws a 35-0 lead at the close of the first quarter.
Early in the second quarter Emery Myer took a 38-yard pass from Hasskamp, broke a tackle and raced up the sidelines for the touchdown. Immediately following, Tanner Hodges intercepted a pass and returned it for a TD. Sisters pushed to a 49-0 advantage.
Ian Stark closed out Sisters' scoring in the first half when he tackled the La Pine punter in the end zone for a safety. At the half the Outlaws held a commanding 51-0 lead.
The Outlaw defense kept La Pine to plus two yards rushing in the first half.
Hasskamp hit Gryder for a 57-yard touchdown on the first play of the second half. The extra point attempt failed, leaving Sisters up 57-0. The varsity players hit the sidelines, and the JV took over.
Nick Head, who handled the majority of the carries at tailback in the second quarter, turned in another excellent performance and rushed 14 times for 82 yards.
Coach Bob Macauley was once again very impressed with JV player Chase Klient and noted his great leadership and athletic ability at quarterback.
To their credit the La Pine offense never quit and scored 20 points in the fourth quarter to bring the game to a 57-20 finish.
McCaffrey finished the game with 14 carries for 177 yards and four touchdowns. Hasskamp had an excellent night and completed six of eight passes for 238 yards and three touchdowns.
The defense was led by Chad Kernutt who recorded nine tackles for the night. Brandon Morgan, Levi Goins and Tanner Hodges each contributed one interception.
The team was thrilled with the return of Captain Dominic Nieri at linebacker, who had missed three games due to an ankle injury.
Sisters, the No. 1 ranked team in the state, will travel to No. 3 Marist on Thursday, October 11. Marist has been playing very well and sports an offensive line that averages 268 pounds.
