Marcie Hoyt

Marcie Hoyt of Sisters died Thursday in her home. She was 55 years old. Marcie was born December 5, 1951 in Enid, Oklahoma, the daughter of William Jerome (Jerry) and Lois Jean (Mason) Farrell. She graduated from James Monroe High School in Los Angeles and later with a Bachelor's Degree from Cal State Northridge University.

Marcie married Dennis McGregor, of San Diego, December 11, 1976, and had twin daughters December 31, 1977. The family resided in Ventura, California until 1989 when they relocated to Sisters.

Marcie later married Charles (Chuck) Hoyt, of Sisters, on October 17, 1999, in Kona, Hawaii. They enjoyed traveling, bird watching and spending time at their homes in Sisters, Camp Sherman and Gold Beach.

Marcie was a mother and homemaker and worked part-time for the Sisters School District in the special education department and at the alternative school. She had an ability to connect with her students and was a valued mentor and supporter.

She enjoyed cooking, reading, attending musicals and theater, riding roller coasters, spending time with family and friends, strolling through open houses and teaching her daughters her old cheerleading routines. She wasn't afraid to question the rules and was proud to stand up for what she believed in.

Marcie is survived by her husband, Chuck; her daughter Sally and son-in-law Dominic Fouts of Seattle; daughter Tracy and son-in-law Andrew Funk of Denver; step-son Tyler Hoyt, of Sisters; step-daughter Chelsie Hoyt, of Sisters; brothers Pat Farrell of Morro Bay, California, Mike Farrell of Yucaipa, California and Tim Farrell of Ventura, California.

Marcie was loved dearly and will be remembered as a devoted wife and mother, a source of companionship and support for her friends and for her passionate, spunky personality and wild, contagious, laugh.
