News and Opinion from Sisters, Oregon
The City of Sisters Development Code update is continuing in two phases.
The first step is an emergency code update, which is intended to address page numbering and formatting issues, conflicts within the code, incorrect references and definitions and other non-controversial and nondiscretionary errors in the code.
The emergency code update is a housekeeping measure that is not intended to address any policy issues, according to city planner Eric Porter.
The non-emergency code update is the second, more comprehensive step begun in 2006. This process will pick up in February,
generally after the emergency code update is wrapping up, Porter reported. He said that more information regarding the non-emergency code update will be available soon.
A copy of the changes associated with the emergency code update will be available for review at City Hall in the Planning Department after January 18. The changes to the Development Code proposed as part of the emergency code update will be heard by the Planning Commission at a public hearing scheduled for March 3.
