Lucia E. Warren-Powers died January 21. She was 77.
She was a part-time resident of Sisters since 2000, moving here full time in 2007 from Portland.
Born in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, to Merle P. and Gertrude E. Warren, she grew up in Reedsport where she was an excellent student. She played three instruments, drew and painted. She was a cheerleader and a rodeo queen. She was always the queen to the family.
She retired from U.S. Bank, Portland, as an assistant vice-president in 1994 after working there for 33 years. When she retired, she took up a new art form of quilting and made over 50 quilts that she designed for family and friends. She also took up knitting when she moved here and made prayer shawls for the church.
Her best friend and husband, Keith G. Powers preceded her in death.
She leaves behind two brothers, Robert M. Warren (Shirley) of Coos Bay and James G. Warren (Betty) of Bakersifed, California; two sisters, Rita J. Abbott (Don) and Glenda G. Warren of Sisters; one stepson Gregory G. Powers (Jeannie) of Portland; seven nieces and nephews; 14 great nieces and nephews; three step-grandsons; two step granddaughters; and four great-grandchildren.
She was a member for over 40 years of the Multnomah Athletic Club and was a member of Sisters Athletic Club.
Lucia traveled all over the country and the world and met many people along the way. She had a great love of people and will be missed by all whose lives she has touched.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 16, at 1 p.m., at Sisters Episcopal Church of the Transfiguration with a reception to follow at the church.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Sisters Episcopal Church of the Transfiguration choir fund.
