Big home track meet scheduled for Saturday

The annual Sisters Rotary Track and Field meet is set for Saturday, April 5, at Reed Stadium.

The meet promises to provide high quality running, jumping and throwing by athletes from throughout the Central Oregon region and the Willamette Valley.

The 14-team meet includes squads from West Linn, Redmond, Crook County, Madras, Molalla, La Pine, Estacada, Cascade, Burns, Lakeview, Culver, Bonanza and Gilchrist.

Head coach Bob Johnson sees the meet as a chance for Sisters area fans to come and see the Outlaws in action.

"With a field of 14 teams, every event will be deep with talent, which gives our athletes the chance to really test themselves in front of the home crowd," he said.

Field events are scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. Running events get underway at 1 p.m. Admission is free.

In addition to providing much of the volunteer help for the meet, Sisters Rotary Club will also offer a barbeque and other refreshments for participants and spectators.
