Robert Cantrell passed away December 4, 2007, in Bend. He was 80. Bob was born April 30, 1927, in Polk, Arkansas, to George and Camie Cantrell.
He was preceded in death by his mother; father; three brothers, Clavin, Junior and Bill, all of Texas; four sisters, Hazel Cantrell and Pearl Simpson of Texas, Dorothy Murray of Alaska and Ruby Rollins of Sisters; wife Lavada; and his daughter Roberta Gardillo of Bakersfield, California.
He is survived by one sister, Dixie Haack of Dallas; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild all of Bakersfield, California, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Bob spent most of his life in Bangs, Texas where he had a small engine repair shop. He later moved to Central Oregon to be closer to family.
He loved music and sitting on the porch in the evening playing his fiddle for anyone who would listen. He loved fishing and just sitting and visiting with loved ones. He was a very loving and caring Christian and will be greatly missed by his family and those who came to know this gentle man.
A graveside service will be held at Camp Polk Cemetery on April 26, at 2 p.m.
