The girls golf team is at its peaking as it wraps up league play and heads for the district tournament. The Outlaws finished first at Aspen Lakes on Tuesday, April 29, and one day later finished runner-up at the Sisters Invitational at Aspen Lakes.
In Tuesday's match Sisters finished first with a team score of 350. St. Mary's out of Medford was runner-up at 384 and Cottage Grove placed third at 485. Lindsay Reeve was the individual medalist and finished with a score of 78.
Alexis Wainwright carded a 90 and Shelby Ross and Meghan Crowder each scored a 91. Ocean Yap-Powell rounded out the scoring with a 96. Emily Rawls carded an 89 for a personal best and Claire Mutchler scored a 102.
The Outlaws finished second (353) at the Sisters' Invitational one day later. Bend won the tournament at 349. Crook County was third at 361 and Crater had an incomplete team.
Reeve finished with an 80 for the day and once again earned medalist honors. Wainwright carded a 90, Ross a 91, Yap-Powell a 92 and Crowder a 105. Rawls finished with a 99 and Mutchler scored a 104.
"We've been battling with Bend and Crook County all season and we have to take our hat off to Bend High," said Coach Mary Flande. "They are solid from top to bottom. I'm pleased with our girls' consistent play. It should make for a great district tournament next week."
The Lady Outlaws finished second out of 11 teams at Meadow Lakes in Prineville, on Friday, April 25.
Bend took first-place honors with a score of 346 and Sisters was runner-up at 347.
Lindsay Reeve led the Outlaws with a 77. Reeve put together an eagle and a birdie in route to a solid 37 on the back nine to finish second in the tournament. Shelby Ross played consistent on both the front and back nine and finished with an 88. Alexis Wainwright and Ocean Yap-Powell both carded a 91 and Claire Mutchler rounded out the scoring with a 95. Also playing for Sisters was Meghan Crowder who scored a 92 for her best round of the season. Emily Rawls finished with a 99 and came back very strong on the back nine and cut her score by 11 strokes.
