Two Sisters men were injured Friday evening in a two vehicle head-on crash on Highway 20 near Gerking Market Road west of Tumalo.
According to Oregon State Police (OSP) Sergeant Don Wagner, on May 2, 2008 at approximately 6 p.m. a green 1999 Toyota Camry four-door driven by Cameron Rosseau, 20, with passenger Jennifer Lanter, 18, both from Bend, was eastbound on Highway 20 when his vehicle drifted onto the shoulder and overcorrected colliding with an oncoming white 2000 GMC Sierra pickup.
The driver of the pickup, Greg Kackstetter, 57, and his passenger Doug Richmond, 59, both from Sisters, were injured.
All occupants were taken to St. Charles Medical Center. Rosseau, Kackstetter, and Richmond were transported by ground ambulance and Lanter was taken by air-ambulance. Both Lanter and Richmond were reported to have received serious injuries. All occupants were using safety restraints and both vehicle airbags deployed.
Highway 20 was shut down for approximately 3-1/2 hours during the investigation. With the assistance of Oregon Department of Transportation and other local emergency personnel, traffic was detoured around the crash scene until the highway was reopened.
OSP troopers from the Bend Area Command and Deschutes County Sheriffs Office responded to the scene and are investigating the crash.
