Sisters Oregon Guide for 2008-09 is out

The Sisters Oregon Guide published by The Nugget is now available.

The publication is a comprehensive guide to the Sisters Country, including information on recreation and activities year-round. Major Sisters events are covered, along with tips for enjoying the town's arts and live music scene.

The guide offers ideas for hikes and bicycle rides - on the road and off - and covers wintertime activities such as skiing and snowshoeing. Dining and lodging listings allow visitors to plan their stay. The guide also includes profiles of exceptional Sisters artists and entrepreneurs. Vern Goodsell's work in re-creating great warplanes of the past is chronicled, along with a portrait of equine artist and horse trainer Kimry Jelen.

There is a profile of legendary Northwest naturalist Jim Anderson and a story on Phil and Kris Rerat, the founders of Swiss Mountain Log Homes.
