News and Opinion from Sisters, Oregon

Sisters salutes

• Amp Media Group would like to thank all the people who helped in putting on the Inaugural Central Oregon Blues and Crawfish Festival held in Sisters this year.  First, thanks to our great number of hard working and dedicated volunteers! (Especially Corrine Pray and Tami Jones - wow!)  Thank you for the cooperation of the City of Sisters City Hall staff, Creekside City Park proved to provide a perfect atmosphere, excellent for music.

Thanks to the surrounding residents who live by the park. We hope that you enjoyed the music as much as those who attended.

Many of you stopped by and told us who you were. We appreciated that! For those that were concerned about the noise, we heard that, too, and will take it under consideration next year.

Thanks to our MCs for volunteering their time. Huge thanks to the vendors and merchants that participated.  Especially, John and John at Bronco Billy's. It couldn't have happened without you.

Thank you to our sponsors at BendBroadband and Combined Communications (98.3 The Twins and Clear 101.7). A big thank you to Patty Vandiver, Hoyt's, Unique Properties, Chris Cox and the guys at Wildfire Brewery, Rod Thompson at Suntrack Sound and Joe Leonardi!

Finally, we want to thank all the people who chose to spend part or all of their Fourth of July weekend with us for the hot blues under the cool pines of Sisters.

It was a huge success!  Thanks so much for a great party!

• Joe Mantecon of Sisters Boy Scout Troop #188 achieved the rank of Eagle Scout in July 2008.

• Hundreds of volunteers made the Sisters Out

door Quilt Show another big success.
