Outlaws to host marathon softball game

The Sisters High School softball team will hold a fund-raising marathon game Saturday, August 9, at the high school varsity field.

Game time is 10 a.m. and will follow the Outlaws' Invitation-Only Varsity Prospect game, scheduled to begin at 8 a.m.

The marathon game is the first of several Outlaws fund-raisers in their quest to attend the Disney Wide World of Sports Spring Training to be held next spring break in Orlando, Florida.

Players and coaches are seeking pledges or donations. Coach Tom Mauldin noted that "any" donation will be greatly appreciated and that a donation per inning played or any pledge amount will go toward the spring break travel fund.

Mauldin also noted that the team has no specific goals for the game, but anyone is invited to come play against the Outlaws.

"We'll be coming off a week of Summer Camp, plus the all-night Varsity-Invite Camp, so I'm suspecting the girls will be a bit bleary-eyed, but they are excited about the week of softball," said the coach.

Anyone wishing to make a pledge or donation can do so at the varsity field on Saturday or contact an Outlaw player or coach.
