Sisters-Camp Sherman Rural Fire Protection District firefighters on Friday knocked down a truck and camper fire at 69170 Bay Dr. in Sisters, on the east slope of Wild Horse Ridge.
Fire officials report that Hinkle Butte Lookout called in a smoke report at 2:36 p.m. Oregon Department of Forestry and the Forest Service responded. They then called for Sisters-Camp Sherman RFPD to respond. Mutual aid from Cloverdale Fire District was also called.
First responding units found a 2006 Lance camper on fire with extension into the 2004 Chevy pickup. The flames started a barn and surrounding brush on fire.
Approximately one acre was burned and the pickup, camper, trailer and barn worth $75,000 were destroyed.
