Sisters sheriff's calls...

• A young driver fell asleep at the wheel of his SUV and swiped the side of a truck. The driver escaped with very minor injuries.

• A man violated a no-contact order with a woman. When deputies arrived to get him to leave, he scuffled with them.

He got to go to jail.

• A shopper left a dog in the car in 98-degree weather conditions. For "just a few minutes," of course. A deputy explained that just a few minutes in a broiling hot car on a broiling hot day could make a broiled, dead dog.

• A 22-year-old woman was arrested for drunk driving one day and the next was involved as the aggressor in a domestic assault.

• A driver hit and killed a tan Chow mix dog on Highway 242.

• A man reported his car stolen with a full tank of gas. A deputy located the car at a gas station with no signs of entry and nothing missing. The man remembered driving to the gas station and decided he must have left the car there.

• Some patriotic soul stole the American flag from City Hall.
