News and Opinion from Sisters, Oregon
Enjoy an evening of original music at the Sisters Public Library on October 2, at 6 p.m., when Brad Tisdel and students of the Sisters Folk Festival's Americana Project take the stage for a free performance.
This program is sponsored in part by the Friends of the Sisters Library.
Tisdel has worked for the past eight years as the co-founder and creator of the Americana Project, an organization that teaches guitar playing, songwriting and American Roots Music to young people.
The Americana Project is currently in five schools, four Central Oregon high schools and one in Lincoln City. During the performance students and Tisdel will be performing original tunes.
Tisdel is the Executive Director of the Sisters Folk Festival for the past four years, and last spring released a new CD titled, "On Your Way," which contains 11 new songs that chronicle his travels in Nepal, and reflect on hurricane-ravaged New Orleans and the birth of his son.
This program is free and open to the public. For more information about this and other library programs, visit http://www.dpls.us or call 312-1032.
