Hearing set on Sisters development

Developers of a proposed 10-acre mixed-use development near the site of Sisters' new post office on Larch Avenue will take their plans to the City of Sisters Planning Commission next week.

The planning commission will hold a public hearing at Sisters City Hall on December 18, at 5:30 p.m. on a proposal for a 10-acre mixed-use (residential and commercial) development called Black Butte Crossing. Willamette Planning Group LLC is proposing a four-phased development containing six buildings with 243 dwelling units, and 32,000 square feet of retail square footage.

The developer is seeking site design review, subdivision and conditional use permit approval for the development on the west side of North Locust Street, approximately 660 feet south of North Barclay Drive, and on the east side of Larch Avenue.

Contact Eric Porter, Community Development Director, at 323-5219 for more information. Failure to raise an issue in person, by letter before or during the hearing, or failure to provide statements or evidence sufficient to afford the decision-maker an opportunity to respond to the issue means that an appeal based on that issue cannot be filed with the State Land Use Board of Appeals.

All evidence relied upon by the Community Development Director or designee to make this decision is in the public record and available for public review. Copies of this evidence can be obtained at a reasonable cost from the city.

A copy of the city's staff report and recommendation to the hearings body shall be available for review at no cost at least seven days before the hearing.

City Hall is located at 520 E. Cascade Ave.
