News and Opinion from Sisters, Oregon
To the Editor:
I thought I should share this piece of information since The Nugget ran an article on "Fred" from Estonia. He was the very successful door-to-door salesman that sold amazing tutorial books to over 500 of Sisters residents.
Although I did not sign up for the on-line program, my checking was charged $19.95 last month and again this month. Two other families I asked were charged this mystery charge also.
Here is the number to cancel the on-line program which you may not have signed up for either: 1-888-551-5901.
I'm sure Fred isn't seeing any of that $10k getting charged to Sisters' residents bank accounts monthly - regardless I thought you should know!

To the Editor:
During these hard times, I am wondering why more men and boys aren't contacting homeowners, especially in senior areas, offering to shovel snow, scrape snow off of roofs, lift snow tires in and out of cars, and put up and take down outside decorations.
There is a big demand, especially this year. It seems that we no sooner get it finished than it has to be started all over again.
What money is made at these tasks could put food on the table.

To the Editor:
I agree with Susan Barker and the labeling of the death of the young deer was a very "cavalier" approach to the incident. Instead of being the keepers of the animals we are so fortunate to have, the only child to have feelings is the young lady witnessing the irresponsibility.
It is a violation of Oregon State Law to harass these animals and the kids involved need to understand they should be caring for, not hindering, these animals' lives.
I've seen the fear in these young animals when their necks have been broken and it isn't pretty when they die in your arms.
