The boys' basketball team suffered a disappointing 38-36 loss at home to Elmira on Tuesday, February 2, but three days later bounced back with a huge 73-44 victory at La Pine.
Tyler Miller scored five consecutive points to get the Outlaws going at the start of the first quarter in Tuesday's game against the Falcons. Sisters continued to execute offensively and at the close of the quarter Ross Erickson scored on a dish from Drew Harrison to push the Outlaws to a 19-8 lead.
In the second quarter Rodney Warner, who was recently moved up from the junior varsity team, did a great job coming off the bench. Warner stole the ball for two transition points and took a charge which fired up the crowd. Ross Erickson hit a three at the buzzer to close out the first half and Sisters went up 30-16.
The Outlaws collapsed in the second half. Elmira took over and outscored Sisters 22-6 to win by two. Sisters only had 14 possessions in the second half, took only six shots and had eight turnovers.
Coach Jake Rothauge said, "We had untimely turnovers and didn't execute."
Levi Rowe led Sisters' scorers with 12 points, including three threes. Rowe also had three steals and two assists in the game. Erickson contributed 10 points, four rebounds and two steals. Drew Harrison scored six points and Tyler Miller added five.
Three days later the Outlaws earned a big victory at La Pine.
Sisters dominated the game in every way. The Outlaws played great defense, outrebounded the Hawks, executed on offense and got easy transition points. According to Rothauge, the win was an entire team effort.
Points were distributed throughout the entire team. Erickson led all scorers with 16 points, and also pulled down eight boards and had eight assists and two steals. Levi Rowe scored 13 points, including three threes. Drew Harrison contributed 13 points and dished out three assists. Tyler Miller had eight points in the game and pulled down 11 boards. Kevin Wistrom scored seven points and Rodney Warner added six.
Sisters will host Junction City on Friday, February 13.
