News and Opinion from Sisters, Oregon
In the fifth of six races, three Sisters Outlaw alpine racers have succeeded in securing transfer spots to the Oregon State High School Championship.
With the conclusion of the three Giant Slalom races, Lucas Rietman, Jenna Sneva and Haley Hancock all secured enough individual points to compete at the championship in March. The only other individual spot was taken by Mountain View's Logan Frankenburger. February 21 will conclude the league race schedule, with the final Slalom race held on Ed's Garden on the slopes of Mt. Bachelor.
"I'm very happy to see Sisters taking the lion's share of the individual spots," said Head Coach Todd Williver. "We always have a strong presence in the Central League."
Although it appears that team transfer spots are out of reach for the Sisters teams, they will be well represented at the State Championship.
"I anticipate we will secure several more spots once the Slalom results are tabulated," Coach Williver said.
The Oregon State High School Alpine Ski Championship will be held at Mt. Bachelor this year on March 6-7.
