Deschutes Public Library Adult Services Department will host "Roland White Plays Celtic Fiddle" on Thursday, June 4, at 6:30 p.m. at the Sisters Public Library.
Since 1976, Roland White has studied and learned hundreds of fiddle tunes from Irish, Celtic and American fiddle styles. His musical career includes demonstrating American pioneer music for the National Park Service at the Lewis and Clark National Memorial in Astoria, Oregon. He frequently performs at the Northwest Folk Life Festival in Seattle, Washington and has competed in the National Fiddle Contest in Weiser, Idaho.
White's fiddle and mandolin performances are included on two folk music CDs. His musical education includes workshops taught by numerous fiddling masters, including world-renowned fiddler and recording artist, Mark O'Conner.
