Sisters man offers taxi, shuttle service

Kelley Mynatt has been driving for a living for decades.

As a long-haul trucker, based out of Spokane, Washington, he says he's "been in transportation forever - my whole life."

Moving to Sisters a while back to be near his mother, Eloise Mynatt, he saw an unmet need that he was eminently qualified to fill. He thought Sisters needed a taxi/shuttle service.

"I had this Denali and I thought, heck, why not put it to work," he said.

Sisters Taxi and Shuttle handles all kinds of driving work, from airport shuttle service to taking folks out for a night on the town in a comfortable, roomy SUV "with all the bells and whistles."

"I pick people up at Black Butte Ranch all the time and bring them down to (Sisters) for dinner," Mynatt said.

Mynatt also offers rides to hospital and doctors appointments in Bend - and his service is a lot more generous than standard taxi service. For a flat fee, he'll drop a client off at the doctor and come back and pick her up - no wait time charged as long as the time period is no more than two hours.

"I'm doing this whole thing for a round trip 'cause I've got to come back anyways," he said.

Sisters Taxi and Shuttle will offer taxi service from a base at the Sisters Rodeo Grounds during rodeo weekend. Again, Mynatt is offering a little something extra for those who need to leave their car behind at the rodeo.

"I'm going to have an extra guy who is willing to take their car back... so they don't have to leave it," he said.

Mynatt is fully bonded and insured and has years of driving experience behind him, making his shuttle service safe and efficient.

Mynatt enjoys the work (even when it entails a late night phone call from a bar) and he likes the people he meets.

"The majority of people I've been hauling here are really nice, classy Sisters people," he said.
