Church back on track with honor board

After overcoming some setbacks, including health issues, the folks at The Episcopal Church of the Transfiguration are back on track with their mission to support our troops by designing, maintaining and displaying a bulletin board.

"The purpose is prayer," said Jean Engstrom, the heart behind the project. "The people of this congregation are eager to support our troops with loads of prayers."

They are asking for Sisters families that have connections to troops to submit a photo and information so that it can be posted on their military board in the foyer of their building. In addition, those involved with the maintaining of the board will print a list of troops, that can be conveniently taken home to continue with prayers throughout the week.

Margery Guthrie will be the tactical side of the team. Her experience in organization and her can-do attitude have enabled the project to lift off.

The information requested is a wallet-size photo, name, rank, branch of service, job title and mailing address if known. All can be submitted electronically at [email protected] or sent via the postal service to: The Episcopal Church of the Transfiguration, P.O. Box 130, Sisters, Oregon 97759.
