The boys soccer team lost 3-1 at Cottage Grove on Tuesday, October 27, and two days later earned a 1-0 victory at home over Junction City (JC) in their final league game of the season.
The Outlaws were set to play Junction City on Monday, November 2, with the winner advancing to the Class 4A state playoffs as the league's No. 3 seed.
In Tuesday's game, the Lions scored in the 17th minute to take a 1-0 lead. Ten minutes later Tim Hernandez scored for the Outlaws to tie the game 1-1. Cottage Grove scored again, and at the half were up 2-1. The Lions added another goal in the 57th minute to finish with a 3-1 victory.
Two days later, the Outlaws beat Junction City at home 1-0.
Freddy Gonzalez scored in the 57th minute on a breakaway for Sisters' lone goal in the contest.
Coach Rob Jensen noted that seniors Grayson Gould, Geoff Houk, Skye Ling-Scott, Kevin Marquardt, Chris Waters and Jake Laskin came out with a lot of energy to set the tone for the game.
Sisters finished league play with a 4-4-2 record and are 6-6-2 overall.
