News and Opinion from Sisters, Oregon
The Sisters Area Chamber of Commerce has announced the beginning of the Sisters Country Charm Bracelet - Winter Edition.
According to legend, many years ago Cowboy Nicholas and his sidekick, the Ponderosa Kid, traveled West by horseback, collecting treasures along the way.
While breaking camp one crisp winter morning near the Metolius River, the Kid neglected to tighten his saddlebag, and as he and Nick rode through the Sisters Country, tiny symbols of a Western town were sprinkled across the land.
Stop by the trailhead at the Chamber of Commerce Visitors Center in Sisters and purchase a bracelet for $5. Created from polished pewter, this bracelet measures about 7-1/2 inches long with a toggle and lobster claw clasp. A special charm specifically selected by the Chamber begins your bracelet with a choice of either a recipe book or umbrella charm.
While at the Chamber you will receive a map showing the locations of the participating businesses. Participants can spend their day visiting merchants and other establishments throughout Sisters Country.
Each business will be selling a unique, Western-themed charm for $2 each. Once you have collected all 13 charms, the bracelet tells a story of the various places you visited throughout the day in Sisters.
