Sisters' youths feed the hungry

Sisters youths have stepped up to feed the hungry in their community.

Cub Scout Pack 139 made their third annual trek to the Sisters Kiwnais Food Bank to donate two wagon-loads of food raised through a food drive at Sisters Elementary School.

"The families of the school respond really well," said den leader Gaye Woomer. "This year the donations were a little less than last year. Due to economics, I'm not surprised. Families were still very generous with their giving."

Meanwhile, Sisters Middle School students participated in their third annual Thanksgiving Food Drive for Family Access Network (FAN).

Each homeroom collected items on a grocery list to create a complete Thanksgiving meal for one family in the Sisters community. The goal this year was to feed 16 families.

The school's leadership class made a special food delivery to FAN on Friday.
