Giving trees sprout across Sisters

The Sisters-Camp Sherman Fire and Ambulance Association are asking the community to donate gifts for needy children of the Sisters community this holiday season.

There is a Christmas "giving tree" at Ray's Food Place in Sisters filled with ornaments listing items that less fortunate local children need for Christmas.

New, unwrapped gifts should be dropped off at the Sisters-Camp Sherman Fire Station at 301 S. Elm St. in Sisters. In order to ensure that the families receive their gifts by Christmas return the tag along with your donation no later than December 18.

Monetary donations may be made to the Sisters-Camp Sherman Fire and Ambulance Association, also at 301 S. Elm St.

Another giving tree is up at Sisters Feed & Supply, where donations help special-needs horses.

Paso by Paso Equine Rehabilitation is a charitable equine rescue and rehabilitation organization for special-needs horses. These are horses scarred emotionally or physically abused in such a manner that expense and care exceed the normal requirements of equine maintenance.

Take an ornament from the tree listing needed supplies. Fill the order at Sisters Feed & Supply and they will give you a 10 percent discount. Paso by Paso operator Linda Daniel will pick up the supplies from the feed store.

The Angel Tree is up at Paulina Springs Books. Pick an ornament from the tree and buy a book for a boy or girl, which will be donated to the Sisters SMART reading program.
