Outlaws basketball team suffers loss

The Outlaws suffered a 74-47 lost at Madras on Tuesday, December 15.

Sisters' offense and half court defense performed well the first two quarters against the White Buffaloes, and at the half the Outlaws were only down by 10. In the second half Madras switched to a tough, trapping defense which proved to be too much for the young Outlaws team.

"We lost to Madras tonight, but we moved forward as a team," said Coach Rand Runco.

"Madras is a very good local team with excellent talent. We had difficulty handling their trapping defense in the second half. We are learning fast, but have trouble adapting to fast changes by the other team. We continue to improve and are working to be ready for league. We are learning our roles on our team and how to play four full quarters. We struggle with flurries of turnovers when the opposing team makes changes, but we learn quickly and will soon be a very tough team."

Drew Harrison led the Outlaws with 24 points and pulled down eight boards. John Erickson had 10 points, five rebounds and four assists in the game.

Information on the weekend games against Crook County and Central was unavailable at press time.

The Outlaws will host their annual Holiday Tournament on Monday and Tuesday, December 28 and 29.
