To the Editor:

I am delighted to support the McKenzie Meadows Senior Campus as an asset to our city.

I have especially enjoyed the coming together of interested parties to work out not only an urgent care clinic, but to see how it might be shared with a school clinic.

I have been delighted by the open reception to my suggestion for a wider bike/pedestrian path in the west side park as well as the willingness to look into outdoor exercise stations for the over-50 crowd.

I was surprised to learn at one of the meetings that the median income in Sisters is $18,000 a year, making the affordable housing piece of this development a necessity.

I will also contact the folks who have been dreaming of a senior/community center to see if I qualify as a "younger senior" to help that piece occur.

What an excellent project to look forward to in 2010!
