News and Opinion from Sisters, Oregon
From Tom Tuck and Kim Royster:
Imagine my amazement when I see Robin, a City of Sisters Public Works employee, digging around my yard, which is covered in about two feet of snow.
"Looking for the water meter?"
"Yes. Liz Majury, City of Sisters Administrative finance assistant, thinks you might have a leak; your water consumption is much higher than normal."
"Are you kidding me? You are actually digging around in my yard because someone at the city noticed on my e-bill that my water consumption is higher than normal?"
Yes, it is true! Robin and Liz were heads-up, proactive and helpful. Robin and I identified that I had a break in the PVC pipe at the main water valve to my home.
When I went to a professional luncheon that afternoon and explained that I was late because the City of Sisters helped me uncover a significant water leak, everyone had the same reaction: "That could only happen in Sisters!"
Thanks, Liz and Robin - we appreciate your assistance and proactive, helpful attitude. It is what makes living here special.
