Peggy Click Taylor was born May 1, 1935 in Seattle, Washington, to Denton and Frances Keller. She died on March 1, 2010 at her home in Vancouver, Washington, after a courageous six-year battle with ovarian cancer.
She was the eldest of four children (Nancy, David, Dennis). She attended Lincoln High School and was a cheerleader. At Whitman College she was a Tri Delta sorority member. There she met and married William "Bill" Click, who died in 1993.
They made their home in Vancouver, where they raised their four children and immersed themselves in community activities including Camp Fire, Alcoa Little League, Vancouver Rose Society, Columbia Presbyterian Church, Rotary, and Clark County Quilters. She was a beloved teacher of fourth through sixth grades at Ben Franklin, Martin Luther King and Lakeshore elementary schools.
Upon her retirement, she lived half-time at Black Butte Ranch, where she enjoyed bridge and quilting and met Al Taylor, whom she married in 2002. They enjoyed travel, musical theater, bridge and devoted companionship.
She was instrumental in organizing the making of quilts which were raffled to benefit Sisters High School art students and scholarships. In the last eight years this amounted to $12,152.77. She also took many classes and participated in the Sisters Outdoor Quilt Show as a volunteer and quilt maker.
Peggy instilled a love of learning and a love of family to her children and grandchildren.
