Sisters business at a glance

• Despite some confusion due to real estate marketing efforts involving the building where they are located, Slick's Que Co. is not for sale.

In fact, they are gearing up for another season in Sisters. The restaurant and catering business is thriving and the owners are preparing the restaurant for a grand re-opening on March 17. Slick's has added a number of new Southern and Texas barbecue items to the menu, a new live music stage, more ambiance, and a new competition smoker made by the Amish in New Holland, Pennsylvania.

• The golf course at Aspen Lakes is open. They are currently running a spring special that benefits the Sisters food bank. Bring in three canned food items or make a $5 donation and play 18 holes at Aspen Lakes for $30 if walking, and $47 if riding.

This offer is valid through March 15.

• Bonneville Power Administration and Central Electric Cooperative invite Tollgate homeowners to attend a special "peak project" meeting at 6 p.m., Thursday, March 11, in the Tollgate community hall.

They will discuss a pilot program designed to reduce peak usage through installing timers on water heaters.

Speakers include, from BPA, Margaret Lewis, conservation and energy efficiency representative; and from CEC, Bob McConnell, manager of operations and engineering, Don Lang, senior electrical engineer, and Alan Guggenheim.
