Sisters Rodeo seeks out history

This is the 70th anniversary of the Sisters Rodeo, and organizers are exploring the history of "The Biggest Little Show in the World."

A committee has been designated to write and publish a book on the history of the rodeo since it began in the early 1940s. This committee is seeking information and pictures and any artifacts relating to the rodeo, especially in its early days. This information will be held in a locked file for about two weeks until it can be properly photographed or copied, and then promptly returned to the owner.

The rodeo realizes that people outside the rodeo association may have wonderful information to share, even though they aren't association members. They urge anyone with information to lend it to the association.

Suzi Sheward is asking anyone having information regarding the rodeo to drop it off in Sisters at the Rodeo office at 220 W. Cascade Ave. or with Vyette Moore at the office of the rodeo president, Glenn Miller Construction, 187 Sisters Park Dr., 541-549-6691.

In Bend, the information may be dropped off in an envelope addressed to Suzi Sheward at Deja Vu Interiors, 225 S.W. Century Dr., near the Simpson-Century roundabout.
