News and Opinion from Sisters, Oregon

Because of health issues of my wife, Linda, we have sold our Sisters home and are relocating to the Portland area to be closer to family. We enjoyed our years in Sisters and want to acknowledge some folks who we saw as "heads above" in terms of service to the Sisters community.
One of our favorites is Gary Frazee. He represented the City of Sisters well; always there to help...no matter what the issue was. Thanks Gary. Another city employee, Carol Jenkins, is a special person; always greeting us with a smile, asking us how we were and eager to assist. Thanks Carol, we will not forget you.
In the Sisters Library, Peg Bermel (and her staff) were always there to help and to brighten our days; fun to work with, fun to see. Thank you, all of you who work in the Sisters Library and for your leadership, Peg.
Lastly, we would like to acknowledge our dear neighbor, Jack Weeks, who has committed so much time and energy to teach the kids chess in the city of Sisters. It takes a special person to still have such a commitment to kids in retirement. Jack is a special treasure in the
community.
We will miss our time in Sisters and the walks we could take through town from our home (except for the post office, which was moved to a location requiring more gas costs, etc.)
Thank you for having such a beautiful community which we plan on coming back to visit, and thank you, again, folks above, for your part in making it special.
