Deschutes County Sheriff's Deputies seized eight horses and cited two women for animal neglect near Sisters on Monday, May 3.
According to the sheriff's office, initial contact with the women was made on April 16 at a residence on Dea Dr. near Sisters after the sheriff's office received a report of possible animal neglect.
Following up on suggested care on May 3, deputies reportedly found evidence that indicated the health of the animals was declining. A veterinarian was called to the scene and determined that the animals were clearly being neglected and needed immediate attention.
Eight horses were seized and transferred to the care of the Deschutes County Livestock Rescue.
Deputies cited Gabriel Denison, 57, of Redmond, on eight counts of second degree animal neglect and Kay Hill, 47, of Sisters ,on one count of second degree animal neglect.
