Boys tennis loses last league match

The boys tennis team wrapped up league play with a 5-2 loss to Marist at Black Butte Ranch on Tuesday, May 4.

Ben Fullhart (No. 1 singles) and Jared Schneider (No. 4 singles) were the only players to record wins against the Spartans.

Fullhart served exceptionally well in his 6-1, 6-2 win over Alex Pendell. Fullhart was in control the entire match and never allowed Pendell to get any momentum.

"Ben used well-placed ground strokes to defeat Alex," said Coach Garth Tosello. "It was probably Ben's most solid win this season."

Schneider used consistent placement as a weapon in his decisive 6-1, 6-1 victory over Greg Ahn.

"Overall, our team effort was good," said Tosello. "We showed that we are ready to compete at district."

Districts were to be held in Medford on Monday and Tuesday, May 10-11.
