Wally had a great love for the outdoors. There was not a trail that he did not hike or a lake or river he did not fish. He shared a special love of being in the mountains and hunting with his daughter Debra. He also enjoyed working in his cactus gardens and spending time with his wife and good friends. He never met a stranger.

Wally is survived by his wife, Nancy, and children Debra Shingler, Norman Bailey, Terry Underhill and Michelle Gibbens. He was also loved by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

As quoted by his grandson Brendon, "It is truly an honor to have him as my grandpa."

Wally had a special way of touching people's lives. It was an honor and a privilege to have known him. He will be missed by many.
